Medical Services
These numbers are representative of a typical year of serving the
individuals and families in our area.
2007 Medical Clinic Statistics
- Almost 700 patients seen in 2007. An average doctor's visit cost in
Tulsa is around $120 This translates to more than $84,000 in medical services
provided free of charge to uninsured clients.
- 1,338 prescriptions filled free of charge or for $5.00 per
prescription ($25.00 for diabetic supplies). Average prescription
prices are around $60. This means uninsured patients in our medical clinic received more
than $80,000 in prescription medications.
- Immunizations, hearing and vision screenings and flu shots were provided either free of
charge or at greatly discounted rates.
- Referrals for appointments with specialists (such as dermatology and
gynecology) now available free of charge through our partnership with
OU's Bedlam Clinic program.
- Mental Health assessments available on-site through Associated
Centers for Therapy at almost every clinic.
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services are available on
Tuesdays.
Our clinic only sees patients with no health insurance. We give
preference to clients residing in our service area.
Both clinics operate on a number draw system to determine both who is
seen as well as the order in which patients are seen.
NATL holds two regular medical clinics per week and one additional
specialty clinic each month.
The first clinic is held on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m. At this
clinic we can see approximately 16 patients. We do not have
laboratory or x-ray facilities on-site, so illnesses requiring that level
of care can not be accommodated. However, referrals for these
services are possible. Prescriptions are filled free of charge or
for low cost when possible.
Our second clinic is held on Thursday, during the day, beginning at
10:45 a.m. This clinic is held in partnership with the OU Bedlam
Clinic Program. At this clinic we can see approximately 12 patients.
We do not have laboratory or x-ray facilities on-site, so illnesses
requiring that level of care can not be accommodated. However,
referrals for these services are possible. Prescriptions are filled
free of charge or for low cost when possible.
The Allergy clinic is held on the third Wednesday of each month at
6:00 p.m. This clinic sees approximately 4 patients for allergy
and asthma related issues. Please feel free to
contact us with any questions.
Additional medical related opportunities (such as immunizations,
hearing and vision screenings, etc.) are available at
different times throughout the year. These opportunities are posted
on the Events / Activities page.
